About Us

The Baraga-Houghton-Keweenaw Community Action Agency is a locally operated, private non-profit corporation designed to develop, administer and carry out programs that have a direct impact on the causes and instances of poverty in our community. Established in 1965, the CAA’s primary mission is to provide assistance to the needy.

Services and programs include the Western Upper Peninsula Food Bank, weatherization, emergency programs, Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), transportation, furnace and chimney cleaning/minor repairs, youth recreation and education opportunities, income tax assistance, property tax and home heating credit assistance, Keweenaw Handicraft Shop, several in-home service programs, and more.
