DRIVER/MATERIAL HANDLER - with CDL B Opportunity
The Position of Driver/Material Handler will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Has an excellent understanding of building materials and our inventory
- Maintains a good understanding of where stock and special-order items are located throughout the yard and warehouses
- Has a reasonable understanding of items inside the store and their location
- Work with the Yard Manager on coordinating deliveries
- Maintains a safe driving record
- Good understanding of the local area
- Delivers in a timeframe that’s reasonable and safe
- Assists the Inventory Manager with inventory counts as required
- Ensures the accuracy of inventory by filling customer orders correctly
- Ensures all orders or special orders are invoiced prior to delivering
- Ensures the accuracy of all orders they’re delivering prior to delivery
- Assists Yard Manager with all maintenance and safety of the yard and warehouses
- Assists Yard Manager in keeping products clean, safe, and dry to minimize loss
- Assists Yard Manager with preventative maintenance on delivery fleet as needed
- Plows, shovels, salts and cleans as needed to ensure the safety of the exterior areas
- Maintain a friendly and helpful manner at all times
- Handle customer complaints in a positive and constructive manner
Skills Required:
- Chauffeurs license required
- Can lift, push, pull up 100lbs
- Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions
- Good understanding on the operation of all yard equipment
- Strong knowledge of building materials
- Great attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- The ability to multitask
- Excellent customer service and people skills
