The women’s barbershop chorus Noteworthy is bringing an attitude of gratitude to its “What We’re Thankful For” Concert, set for 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, at Calumet United Methodist Church.
“We have so much to be grateful for,” said Noteworthy director Joan Petrelius. “Plus we are delighted to be singing together.”
The concert focuses on life’s simple joys, from friends, family and even our pets, to faith and country. The program includes plenty of familiar, singable melodies: “Angels Among Us,” made famous by Alabama; Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA”; the Louis Armstrong classic “What a Wonderful World”; “I Hope You Dance”; and more.
Noteworthy does not charge admission. Donations are accepted for local nonprofits. For this concert, the beneficiary is Bay Cliff Health Camp, a nonprofit therapy and wellness center for children and adults with disabilities. Bay Cliff’s flagship program is a seven-week, summer therapy camp session serving children throughout the U.P.
