Lake Superior Snowshoe
Bring your self, maybe a friend and maybe your sweetheart to celebrate Valentine's Day by sending your love to the most superior lake of all! Come explore the frozen wetlands at the Keweenaw Land Trust's Lightfoot Bay Nature Area! KLT Board member Lynette Potvin will guide you and your friends on a wonderful snowshoe around the nature area's diverse, snow-covered habitats. From icy bogs to drifted dunes of snow and sand along Huron Bay, there is a lot to see at Lightfoot Bay in the wintertime and the frozen ground makes trekking around more feasible in winter. We are excited to share it with you! This hike is free and open to the public. Please register for the event, it helps us know how many to expect and gives us emails to contact you if something changes. Distance will depend on how the group is feeling and the weather. Terrain at Lightfoot Bay is easy - no steep climbs here! Outhouses are on sight. Bring your snowshoes and dress in layers to stay warm! For more information, email jill@keweenawlandtrust.org
