18th Annual Western U.P. Science Fair and Science and Engineering Festival
Two hundred forty students in grades 4-8 will participate in the Western Upper Peninsula Science Fair on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Michigan Tech’s Memorial Union Ballroom (MUB).
Western UP Science Fair will be open to public from 5:00-6:00 pm in the 2nd floor ballroom of the MUB.
The Science & Engineering Festival will take place from 4:30-7:30 pm in the commons of the MUB and is open to all elementary students, science fair participants, and their families. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their elementary students. The festival that will offer more than two dozen fun, hands-on activities conducted by Michigan Tech students in the Memorial Union Commons area. This festival is open to
Students entering the science fair create a project based on an experiment conducted using the scientific process. They are judged on the scientific content of their written report, the presentation of their findings on a display board and verbal communication of what they learned during an interview.
Award winning projects will be displayed at the Carnegie Museum in Houghton from April 5 to April 16, 2016.
