The Keweenaw Land Trust and Carnegie Museum are teaming up on the 2018-2019 Keweenaw Natural History Seminar Series, which will kick off on November 8th. The Keweenaw Land Trust will hold its Annual Members Meeting at 6:00, followed by a panel on the Father's Day Flood and the role of green infrastructure and land management in flooding mitigation. Speakers David Watkins (Michigan Tech), Alex Mayer (Michigan Tech), and Jim Vivian (Keweenaw Community Foundation) will address the causes of flooding, the impact of land use on flooding, and potential practices and technologies we could adopt in our area to lessen the impacts of future floods.
