Cyber security is an issue that potentially impacts every organization from large corporations, major government entities, to small businesses. However, small businesses are particularly at risk for the following reasons:
- Small businesses can be targeted due to the recognition that they may be more
vulnerable
- Small businesses often do not have the resources or expertise to proactively guard
against cyber attacks
- Small businesses typically lack resources or expertise to deal effectively with the
aftermath of cyber attacks
- Small businesses may not have the context to recognize the risk they face
The Michigan SBDC will review with participants the Small Business Cyber Security initiative, which will include information on small business cyber security issues, the online assessment tool, and resources for small business to protect their small business.
