SUMMARY:Noteworthy "Together Again" Concert
DESCRIPTION:HANCOCK Noteworthy is returning to the stage after a two-year\, COVID-induced hiatus. Their spring concert\, "Together Again\," is set for 7 p.m.\, Thursday\, June 9\, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. The region's only women's barbershop chorus\, this lively women's singing group is founded on friendship and the love of barbershop harmonies. Noteworthy charges no admission for concerts and accepts free-will donations to support local charities. Upper Peninsula Honor Flight will be the beneficiary for this concert. To celebrate their reunion\, Noteworthy has assembled a program of favorites. "These are great songs that audiences love\," said director Joan Petrelius. "We've had a lot of fun bringing them back into the repertoire and polishing them up for our listeners." Songs range from "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" to Garth Brooks' "The River and "We Go Together\," from the musical "Grease." U.P. Honor Flight transports veterans to Washington\, D.C.\, to visit war memorials on the National Mall. Top priority is given to World War II and Korean survivors\, along with veterans who may be terminally ill. Applications are accepted at upperpeninsulahonorflight.org from all veterans who served from 1941 to May 1975. Noteworthy always welcomes new members. "If you love to sing\, have fun and help your community with your talents\, come to our concert to see what it's all about\," said Petrelius. "We challenge ourselves to learn new music\, which is good for the brain." For more information\, email noteworthychorus@gmail.com.
