DESCRIPTION:The Lake Superior Performance Rally Committee is pleased to announce the 2016 Lake Superior Performance Rally will be held October 14-15. This year's event is the eighth and final round of the 2016 Rally America National Championship Series.\n\n \n\n2016 LSPR Competitor Registration will open on August 15 th with supplemental regulations available on-line at that time.\n\n \n\nAs part of this year's event The LSPR Committee proudly announces a cooperative effort between the City of Houghton and LSPR to run a stage in Downtown Houghton along the waterfront on Lakeshore Drive. This will be the final stage of the 2016 event with the stage planned for Saturday\, October 15 th \, 2016.\n\n \n\nThe Rally Committee has met with Houghton City Officials and feels the working relationship that has been built over the last 30 years can allow us to provide an exciting stage for both the competitors and spectators. Local businesses will benefit from the added spectators visiting the streets of Houghton.\n\n \n\nThe LSPR staff stresses that there is a lot of work ahead for both LSPR and the city. We will strive to meet all requirements of Rally America\, our insurance providers\, and the City of Houghton.\n\n \n\nThis stage will be run with the highest regard for safety to structures and spectators and will be similar to a town stage run during The Ojibwe Forests Rally in Detroit Lakes\, MN that takes place every August.\n\n \n\nPlease understand that if the safety and well-being of all cannot be ensured LSPR reserves the option to cancel the stage.
