Engineering students from participating schools re-engineer a stock snowmobile to reduce emissions and noise while increasing fuel economy -all the while preserving the riding excitement demanded by snowmobile enthusiasts.   The Challenge also includes a zero-emissions category for battery-powered sleds used in scientific Mission.  Another category employs a diesel engine for snowmobiles used in a more utility work profile.  It is held annually and includes a static display\, endurance to Copper Harbor and Awards banquet.
